Taiwan: Chandra Lin

Chandra Lin is a Dietitian who holds a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science.  She is our DAB member in Taiwan.

 

How long have you been working with Herbalife? 

I have been working with Herbalife since 2007.

 

What is your role with the Company?

I am a Marketing Supervisor and Senior Dietitian. Our team provides Product and Nutrition trainings and events for our members as well as nutrition consultation to our sponsored athletes.

 

Why did you choose nutrition as a career?

My 2nd major is Nutritional Science; I am also a Registered Nurse. In my previous job, I worked for a pharmaceutical company and noticed that most patients didn’t know the importance of nutrition. I think nutrition knowledge is essential for a healthy life and, as a Dietitian, I believe that educating people on good nutrition will help them to make lifestyle changes earlier in life.

 

What is the best part of your job?

I have the chance to get to know our members and provide good nutrition information to them. The other best part of my job is getting to know the members in the Science group, such as Dr. Heber and Dr. Ignarro, as well as the NAB members around the world. Also I have chance to work with Susan!

 

Everyone, even nutritionists, has a ‘guilty pleasure’ when it comes to food.  What’s yours?

My guilty pleasure is potato chips. I love them very much. If I am craving them, I will eat them without even thinking.

 

If you had just one piece of nutrition advice to give to someone, what would it be?

Breakfast is the most important meal for a day.  Please do not skip it.

 

What are some of the latest diet and nutrition trends in your country?

Taiwan does not really have any trendy diets or diet fads (like gluten-free or Paleo diets), but there is a lot of interest in “organic” foods, and many believe they are better than any foods that are sold in the market, even though they are more expensive.

 

 

If you weren’t a Dietitian/Nutritionist, what would you be?

If I was not a Dietitian/Nutritionist, I might be working for pharmaceutical company.  Once I am retired, I will follow my favorite hobbies – photography and crafts.

 

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I am a very low key person.

 

Please provide your personal favorite Formula 1 shake recipe.

I usually mix my favorite Formula 1 (Cookies’ n Cream) with a cup of soy milk.

If I use Strawberry flavor Formula 1, I will add berries to it. It tastes sweet and sour, and really good.
